Can’t access you online banking or any other secure site via Internet Explorer - get “page cannot be displayed message” when you try to sign in? This will sort your problem 9 times out of 10.
- Close all Internet Explorer windows
- Goto “start” then “run” In Vista use “start search”
- Type the following commands one by one
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
You will get an success message after each command as shown below

Try accessing your secure sites - should be working now.
If you are having issues connecting to the internet it could be that your winsock files are corrupted. This command will allow you to fix the issue and restore internet connectivity.
- Goto “start” on the bottom left of your computer then to “run” in Vista type into the “start search” field.
- Once there type “cmd” or if that fails “command”

- You should see the box above
- Type the following command after the > netsh winsock reset
- if successful it will display the following information

- Restart your computer and then try reconnecting to the internet
Internet explorer loading slowly or not at all? Getting unwanted pop-up advertising? This little trick should sort you out!
- Goto your control panel in your computer and look for “internet options”
- Once in internet options look for the “advanced tab” running across the top. You will now see a list of tick boxes
- Under the “browsing section” look for “Enable third party browser extensions”

- If this box is checked, un-check it!
- Now “apply” the changes and click “ok”
- Your done!
- Try Internet Explorer and you should see a marked improvement
